USS Arizona
The Marines home away from home...
The Conestoga class transport is the main means of interstellar travel for the USCM. Used to transport troops and equipment, this class of starship is almost fully automatic. The coordinates of the destination are downloaded into the main computer and the ship literally flies itself. All personnel onboard are placed in hypersleep or 'frozen', as the Marines refer to it. Though not actually frozen, the persons body temperature and vital signs are dropped to extremely low levels. The computer will then 'wake' up the marines close to the destination.
Being self contained, the ship will also defend itself without need of human input. Sensors keep an electronic 'eye' out for threats against the transport. The computer will decide what course of action to take if the ship is attacked.
The Conestoga class has many weapons at it's disposal. The main armament is the XIM-28A Long Lance ASAT missile. This anti-ship missile uses internal guidance to track and kill enemy ships. This frees the main computer to scan for more threats. Secondary armament consists of twin Particle Beam guns, which are used to disable an enemy ship's electronics. This allows for an easy 'kill' with the use of Laser or Rail Guns. Rail Guns are a close proximity weapon, as they are most accurate at ranges of less then 100km.
-Command Center
The heart and sole of the USS Arizona is the command center, where the ship's piloting controls are housed, as well as a briefing room for tactical planning.
-Armory
From rifles to rockets, all the weapons of the Colonial Marines are kept safe in the Armory. Don't plan on leaving with stocking up here.
-Officers Quarters
Home of your CO and XOs are represented here. If you need to talk to one of your leaders, this would be a good place to do it.
-Barracks
For those few hours during the day that a marine grunt might have some time to himself, some of them choose the privacy of their quarters here in the barracks.
-Mess Hall
Whether it be for food, drink, or entertainment, the Mess Hall is the primary hang-out of marines while not preparing for an active mission.
-MedLab
In the event that a marine is wounded on a mission, the MedLab is where they'll receiver the best medical attention in order to have them on their feet in no time.
-Training Facility
Marines have to stay in shape, and this is the place to do it. Regular use of the various equipment in this facility could mean the difference between life or death.
-Hanger
Get on the ready line! When it's go time, your ass had better be in the hanger, ready to take your seat on that dropship and head into hell!
