UD-4L Cheyenne Dropship
The UD-4L Cheyenne Dropship is main transport for tactical operations. 'Dropped' from interstellar space transports like the Conestoga, it carries troops and supplies to the areas they are needed and can lift itself back into orbit with it's own power. The UD-4L can also take off, land, and hover using it's VTOL nozzles to aim thrust downwards, allowing it to land almost any where.
The cargo bay in the UD-4L is accessed through a retractable ramp located in the dropship's under belly. Cargo, either HALOS stores pallet or the M577 APC, is loaded onto the ramp and lifted into the dropship. When carrying the M577 APC, it can quickly land, unload the APC, and takeoff to provide air cover.
The UD-4L carries a wide variety of weapons. Two fold out weapons bays located on top can carry 16x150mm unguided rockets, 6x70mm unguided rockets, and 4x120mm guided rockets each. Additional bays on either side can store an extra 14 air-to-air or air-to-ground missile. The UD-4L also mounts a 25mm gattling gun in a guided turret under the nose. This can be targeted by the pilot just by turning his head.
M577 Armored Personnel Carrier
Designed from the start to be carried and deployed aboard a dropship, the M577 is mobile and well armed. Its primary role is to carry troops into battle and provide protection during engagement.
Because of it's requirement to be dropship deployable, all of it's components are lightweight and rugged. The layout of the M577 is a 4x4 wheeled chassis, considerably less rugged at cross-country performance than a tracked vehicle, was chosen for less weight and better reliability. The wheels, each a massive 160cm in diameter, are powered independently by the engine through an automatic, electronically controlled transmission.
The armor of the M577 is capable of with standing hits from small arms and low velocity armor penetration rounds, although dedicated tank-killing weaponry will defeat it. The M577's own arsenal is very formidable. The front mounted cupola carries two 20mm gattling guns capable of firing High Explosive, High Explosive Armor Piercing and Anti-Personnel Flechette rounds. This weapon's only drawback is it is designed to cover the front area of the APC. The M577 main weapons system is mounted on a turret, allowing more coverage and defendable. It mounts two 20 mW phased plasma cannon, each with 1000 rounds of ammunition and firing up to 4000m in ideal conditions. The entire turret is mounted on rails, allowing it to be stored to lower the over all height of the APC. This is so it can be easily loaded aboard dropships.
